Shocking Recording Shows Instant Police Suffer Blade Attacks in Ambush

The Two Senior Officers Moments Before the Assailant Received Electric Shock

One senior officer who rushed to the assistance of a partner that got attacked by a blade-wielder was granted the King's Commendation for Valor.

Sgt Tim Ansell fought with 27-yr-old Jacob Brown after he pressed a weapon to the throat of his partner Sergeant Marc Foster.

Brown initiated the assault as the officers and their partner, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were conversing to a motorist subsequent to a vehicle incident in Whalley Range in summer 2023.

Brown attacked with blade both Sgt Ansell and Sgt Foster prior to Police Constable Wolstencroft stunned him with a Taser.

"Policeman knifed," the officer stated over his radio.

Officer-mounted and dashcam video shared by the force revealed Brown, wearing in dark clothing with a hood covering head, rush to Sgt Foster from the rear with a knife extended.

He ran into the officer who tripped and went down to the ground, before Sergeant Ansell intervened and attempted to subdue him to the ground despite being continually attacked with the weapon.

PC Wolstencroft Incapacitated the Assailant, Jacob Brown, with a Stun Gun

Police Constable Wolstencroft deployed his electric weapon and waited for a clear shot, bringing the confrontation to an conclusion.

Sgt Ansell stated audibly: "Can I get assistance on my throat here, I'm bleeding in the throat."

Sergeant Ansell sustained multiple lacerations to his neck and additional wounds to his limbs and body, whereas Sgt Foster received cut injuries.

The department stated Sgt Foster utilized his palms to stem his colleague's blood loss prior to medical personnel came.

The new recognition follows subsequent to the law enforcement team received internal Bravery Awards in late 2023 and the prestigious bravery honor from the regional Police Federation in April 2024.

They further earned a North West Valor Recognition in July 2024.

"The responses of all three officers ultimately rescued each other and meant no civilians endured any harm."

Brown was given to an indefinite hospital order in April 2024, as stated by authorities.
