Palestinian-American Adolescent Released Following Nine-Month Period in Israeli Imprisonment

A Palestinian-American youth having endured 270 days in imprisonment by Israel without charge gained freedom.
Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 during his detention in February in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, during a family visit from his Florida home for allegedly throwing stones at Jewish settlers, claims he consistently denied.
American diplomatic officials expressed satisfaction with Mohammed's liberation.
Mohammed, now 16, needed medical care upon gaining freedom, relatives told the media.
Family described him as visibly pale and thin, and is suffering from conditions acquired while detained.
In a statement, family spokesperson spoke of the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".
Family member Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" over the last nine months.
"At this moment, our priority is getting Mohammed prompt healthcare he requires after being subjected to Israel's abuse and brutal treatment for months."
American authorities said it would continue to provide consular support to Mohammed's family.

Several congressional representatives submitted a formal letter to US authorities and the administration, urging greater action to release him.
Mr Ibrahim, a father-of-four managing a frozen treats business based in Tampa, had earlier stated his son only confessed about rock throwing because the soldiers beat him.
There were no visits or spoken to Mohammed since February, receiving updates exclusively about his son's condition in detention through court documents.
He stayed lacking indictment in Ofer prison in the West Bank.

Approximately 350 Palestinian child security detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Following Mohammed's release, family representatives announced the family would also continue fighting demanding accountability for their family member Sayfollah Musallet.

Both young men had worked together in the family ice cream shop from Tampa.
No indictments occurred with Sayfollah's killing.
