British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
The news of his discharge comes as the global fight fans had expressed sympathy for the fighter in the following the terrible crash.
