Attorney General Discloses Investigation into Trump Rivals and Jeffrey Epstein Ties
This past Friday, the Attorney General assigned Jay Clayton to oversee an inquiry into political adversaries of Donald Trump and their connections with the late financier. This action came shortly after Trump directed her to launch the investigation.
During an announcement, the Attorney General praised Jay Clayton as “a highly skilled and reliable legal expert”. The official added, “This case will be addressed with speed and honesty to ensure public transparency.”
This development contrasts with a recent memorandum from justice department officials which declared that the Epstein files did not warrant additional investigations. According to the document, authorities “did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties”
Trump Demands Focus on Democrats in Epstein Case
This news coincides with increasing demands from Trump on congressional Republicans to resist the public disclosure of Epstein-related documents ahead of an upcoming House vote in the coming days. Several lawmakers are anticipated to support the release.
Newly public emails from Jeffrey Epstein have highlighted Trump’s past involvement with the convicted criminal, including details that his knowledge of Epstein’s behavior exceeded prior admissions.
On Friday, the President announced he would direct the DOJ to examine Epstein’s ties with Democrats, specifically naming prominent individuals such as Clinton, Summers, and Hoffman. Paradoxically, he also described the “Epstein hoax” as a “scam”.
