AC Shadows Reveals Surprising Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre collaboration that breaks conventional expectations, the game developer has announced an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Disclosed
According to the official release, "A strange meeting draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The plot introduces a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a clandestine sect.
The questline centers on "strange trials and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Changes
The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Additional Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will receive an special katana alongside numerous artifacts hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Addition
This patch also brings the game's newest free story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive techniques: Naoe debuts a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
